The story is what matters...

Hello everyone! I finally have some time to sit down and blog away. This post is about the story for the film. Without it, it's just dead people trying to bite living people...and even though that's fun, it's not compelling. So lets start with the inspiration for the script.

NO TOMORROW is a film set in the zombie genre which was started by George A Romero in 1968's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. Over the last 40 years the zombie genre has exploded with books, comics, films and most recently "The Walking Dead" on national television. I have always been a big fan of zombies, so much so that one of my short films entitled DEVIATION is set in a zombie infested wasteland. When the film won best short film at the 2010 New York International Independent Film Festival I realized that this specific genre has a very loyal following. That's when I decided to begin work on this project.

NO TOMORROW logline is as follow: In a zombie infested world, a loner, hiding in the wilderness is forced to become a savior to a group of survivors. The story is about a man who loses everything and decides that the only way to survive is to be alone. After the zombie outbreak occurs, the lead charator decides to hide among the forests and farmland of the midwest while making his way across the country.

Well that's it for now. We are working on the editing process right now and I have to say that we are all VERY happy with what we are seeing so far. We are also building a website as well as a facebook fan page so stay tuned for more info on that soon.

  1. I've always loved a good match up... "Who would win??" I'd always ask my Mom, "Spiderman or Batman??... A Lion or a Shark", I was a curious little kid, and I still am. That's what I love about No Tomorrow, I'm not sure who's going to win. Can a man overcome great loss, overcome great odds, and find something inside himself worth saving. Can he control his pain and his rage, can he find the will to help others survive in a world ripped apart by insanity and lead them to safety?? I don't know, but I can't wait to find out...

Shooting No Tomorrow I realized something that became so important to my character 'The Traveler'. This man used nature to survive. We do so much in our lives to protect ourselves from nature. We put up walls and doors and we watch safely from behind windows sheltering ourselves from everything outside. The Traveler was forced to embrace nature in order to stay alive, the wilderness became his protection. He used the forests for camouflage to move unseen, hiding from the threats of a post Apocalyptic world. He drank from the streams and hunted for his food. Even as he slept he had to train himself to hear the warning sounds of approaching dangers... The snap of a twig, the rustle of leaves under moving feet. We typically surround ourselves with noise. Televisions, Radios, Telephones... even the sound of normal traffic can be deafening if you focus on it. In fact we are often uncomfortable in complete silence because it is so rare. The Traveler is alone in complete silence... it's a very eerie feeling to be isolated not only from people but from the life you once knew. The silence of the film creates so much anticipation you almost want to scream... and don't you worry... you will scream...
